Important Things in Roof Inspection Checklist Template
Roof inspections need to be done regularly. You can check the roof twice a year. Why should?
Because in a year our house has gone through various seasons and extreme weather. Can you imagine when extreme weather during the winter can damage the roof of our house because of fungus.
That is the importance of a roof inspection so that we can find out if any part of the roof is damaged or leaking. Because this can make the roof collapse and endanger our lives.
You can use the roof inspection checklist template to check the roof of your house. This template is ready to use because it already contains a list of what to check.
When to Check the Roof?
Ideally, to check the roof, you can do it after and before bad weather. Bad weather like winter is very vulnerable to damage the roof.
Especially during a blizzard, snow can enter your roof and freeze inside. As a result, water and electricity lines can die due to a short circuit.
Extreme weather in summer is also very vulnerable to damage the roof of the house. This is because the sun’s heat can make the roof weathered.
Especially before the summer, there is usually heavy rain. This is what causes some parts of the roof to crack and cause leaks.
Important Things in Roof Inspection Checklist
You can check the roof of your house yourself. If you can’t, then you can hire a service company to check your roof.
Don’t forget to ask for a roof inspection checklist after the inspection is complete.
The following are important things that must be included in the roof inspection checklist:
- Check Roof Cleanliness
The first thing to do is check the cleanliness of the roof. Is there mold or mildew? Then record in the template that we brought.
Also, check whether there are tree branches that enter the roof of our house. because this can cause leaks in the house.
- Look for Signs of Interior Damage
If there is a problem with the roof of the house, then there are some signs of damage to the interior of our house. such as mold on the walls, leaks, or mildew.
This is because of the water that comes out of the roof and into our homes. Check if there is a tear in the roof.
- Check Pipes and Other Equipment
Another important thing is checking the roof is the pipe supports. Make sure the pipe supports are not cracked or loose. Record all damage or pipe conditions in the roofing checklist.
- Check the Drains
Waterways are very susceptible to leaks. Especially when the weather is extreme, our waterways can likely be affected.
Check for water reserves, mold, mildew, and signs if our drains are clogged. Especially in winter, if the weather is very extreme it can freeze our house waterways.
